Brittney Shops til She Drops!

Brittney, a young individual diagnosed with spina bifida, embarked on a memorable shopping spree!

Brittney’s dream was simple yet profound: a shopping spree to her favorite store, Simply Southern. The East Polk County Association of Realtors played a pivotal role in turning this dream into reality, sponsoring the entire experience. Their generosity not only made Brittney’s day, but left a lasting impact on her and her family.

Family Thank You

Lisa, Brittney’s mom, expressed her gratitude, stating, “Thank you so much for granting Brittney’s wish! She had a blast shopping until she dropped! She loved being able to go to her favorite store, Simply Southern, and shopping until she couldn’t anymore!!! Many thanks again for the opportunity!”

Brittney’s Diagnosis

Brittney is diagnosed with spina bifida. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines spina bifida as a birth disorder where the neural tube doesn’t close completely and some of the bones of the spine do not close in the back. This may cause an opening anywhere on the back that may cause damage to the spinal cord and nerves. People born with spina bifida may have nerve damage below the affected area. Some children with spina bifida may also have learning or intellectual disabilities.
