Jonathan’s Dream Answered
Volunteers from the All-Volunteer New Castle County Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation held their 25th Annual Sunshine Scramble Golf Tournament on Monday, September 27th at the DuPont Country Club.
Money raised will answer the dream of Jonathan. Jonathan is 10 years old, diagnosed with severe low-functioning autism and spinocerebellar atrophy. Jonathan’s dream is for an outdoor swing set. Jonathan’s mom said “Jonathan would like an Outdoor swing set! Jonathan may not be verbal, but it is very clear that he loves being outdoors! During the pandemic and even now, there isn’t much Jonathan can do in the community because of his inability to wear a mask, and his lack of awareness of danger. This means he spends a great deal of time at home. We want to make our home as comfortable for him as possible for him to learn, play and grow. Having a Swing set for him to enjoy, would make him so happy!”
The tournament was founded in 1995 by volunteers from the All-Volunteer New Castle County Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation. In its 25-year existence, the tournament alone has sent dozens of children and their families to Disney World, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, LEGOLAND Florida and the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village in Central Florida over the years
