Cecilia Proves Disney Princes ARE Real!
Cecilia, with diplegic cerebral palsy, has loved Disney princesses since she has been a young girl. She was convinced as a young child that the princesses were real. Cecilia received her dream come true trip to the Florida Theme Parks where she was able to prove to her younger self that Disney princesses ARE real!
Thank you from Cecilia’s Family
“Thank you, Sunshine Foundation, sponsors, friends, and family, for helping us have such a wonderful experience! Cecilia’s dream of going to Disney was a complete success! Some of her favorite parts were meeting Belle and Olaf, The Tower of Terror, and seeing all the animals at Animal Kingdom. The Dream Village was a safe, comfortable, and fun place to stay during our time in Florida! This was such an amazing experience for our whole family and gave us some much-needed quality time together after a rough couple years of surgery and recovery for Cecilia. It brought such joy to my heart seeing Cecilia embrace her youth and the magic that Disney emanates! We couldn’t have made this happen without everyone’s help, and we are forever grateful for this unforgettable adventure! All our Love!” – Cecilia and her family
Diplegic cerebral palsy
Diplegic cerebral palsy is a form of cerebral palsy. The CDC defines cerebral palsy as “a group of disorders that affect a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture.” CP, as it is also known, is caused by brain damage or abnormal brain development and affects a person’s muscle control. The degree of severity can range from person to person and can be accompanied by related conditions.
