Sunshine Foundation Held Spectacular 35th Anniversary

Foundation celebrated 35 years of Special Dreams at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children

Wednesday November 16, 2011 11:00 a.m.- 3601 A Street Philadelphia, PA 19134. Hospital Atrium on the Lower Level- The Sunshine Foundation celebrated 35 years of making Dreams Come True for chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children with a big party at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children where it all began.

Since it was founded the Sunshine Foundation has granted more than 36,000 dreams to children suffering from illness or abuse. More than 150 past dream recipients, families and hospital staff were present to witness:

 

Two Dream Come True Presentations made on site to Philadelphia area children, Ines, age 4 and Bethany, age 7 from past dream recipients, Hannah, 5 and Kevin, 7. Ines suffers from Cerebral Palsy and Bethany from Tuberous Sclerosis and Mental Retardation. Each child was presented with a festive white box filled with toys, balloons and their “dream package” to visit Orlando and the Theme Parks. Both little girls will be traveling to Florida in April 2012. Bethany was jumping on stage.
Recognition of 5 other children throughout the US who received dreams in conjunction with the 35th Anniversary.
A statement from Linda Kichula, mother of Bobby, the first Sunshine Foundation recipient who received his dream in 1976 at the age of 5.

Kathy Davis Studios presented awards to Montgomeryville Cycle Center, Leslie McGeogh Design, Chick-fil-A of Neshaminy and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
